Prof. Chiu holds a doctorate degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Currently she is a professor of finance at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), Shanghai Jiaotong University. She also serves as the Academic Director of Sustainable Finance Discipline Development Fund at SAIF.

Prof. Chiu's research interests include sustainable finance, impact investing, finance ethics, corporate governance, and investments.  Prof. Chiu teaches courses at the MBA, EMBA and DBA levels. Her essays on sustainable finance were published by financial magazines. She sits on the board for corporations as independent directors, and provides consultancy to companies on ESG-related issues
